Double Trouble

"Safaree, could you hurry up." Nicki yelled out to him while she looked over herself in the mirror. She ran her fingers through her hair over and over again before she turned from side to side.

"Aye! Don't rush me."

Nicki rolled her eyes and cocked her head to the side while still staring at herself in the mirror. She placed her hands on her hips and then immediately dropped them down to her sides. She ran her fingers through her hair again before she turned, walking out of  the bathroom and turning off the light. She walked out of the bathroom looking down and adjusting the her gold watch on her wrist. She looked up while flipping her hair over her shoulder and stared at SB.

"Safaree."

"Chill." he adjusted his hat and grabbed his keys off the dresser.

"When did it become you taking longer to get ready than me?"

He chuckled and ignored her question. She smiled and took a seat on the bed. "Babe." she looked up at him and he turned around. She raised her right foot up and SB placed his keys in his pocket and bent down. He laced up the front of her heels before she dropped her foot and raised up her left leg and SB did the same. She put her foot down and placed a hand on SB's shoulder as she stood up from the bed.

"Do you know anything about this guy?" SB standing up.

"His name is Jerome." Nicki walked over to the dresser and grabbed her sunglasses. She slid them on and turned around to Safaree. "Ready?"

"Yeah." He licked his lips and waited for Nicki to walk out of the bedroom before he hit the lights and followed out behind her.

"Wait." Nicki said turning around. He placed his hand on her waist and turned her around.

"It's downstairs." He said keeping his hands at her waist and pushing her forward. She placed a hand over his and grabbed it as they approached the stairs. She placed a hand on the rail and tightened her grip on his hand as she walked down the stairs. They made it down the stairs which led to the kitchen and Nicki stepped over to the island grabbing her purse. She picked up her phone and held it.

"Alright." Nicki said pushing her purse up on her arm more as she began walking. "Let's go meet this boy." Nicki said adjusting her sunglasses on her face before she let out a slight laugh.

SB held the front door open and let Nicki walk out before he followed behind her and locked up. He looked up at Nicki heading for her car before he spoke up.

"My car."

As he said that she stepped over to the right heading for his car. He came up behind her and reached around her opening the door for her. She slid inside the car and he checked making sure everything was out of the way before he closed the door. He walked around to his side and climbed in.


They pulled up to the restaurant and SB took the key out of the ignition while looking over at Nicki. "So Candi's taking this guy seriously?" SB said referring to the fact that this double date was at the Sunset Restaurant.

"I don't know." Nicki said as she unbuckled her seat belt. She grabbed her phone out of her lap and opened the car door. Safaree climbed out on his side of the car and hit the button to lock the doors. The moment they stepped on to the curb paparazzi came out of nowhere. SB sped up a bit and Nicki grabbed at his hand while looking down. He stuck out his free arm making sure paparazzi didn't get any more closer than they already are as he led them through paparazzi and into the restaurant. They released each others hands as they stepped into the restaurant and SB spotted Candi over in the back.

"Over here." SB said as he placed a hand over Nicki's back and led her over into the back corner. Candi turned looking over her shoulder and smiled causing a smile to appear on Nicki's face. Candi stood up as Nicki approached closer and extended her arms out to Nicki. They shared a hug and Jerome stood up. SB walked around the table and immediately recognized Jerome once he got a better view.

"Wow. Jay?" SB said as he and Jerome dapped each other up.

"SB. My nigga."

"Yo, Candi. Why you ain't tell nobody you was smashing the homie?"

"Oh, gawd." Nicki said as her and Candi released each other.

"Wait. You two know each other?" Candi asked.

"Yeah. He helped produce my mixtape a while back." SB said. Everyone moved around taking their seats. SB and Nicki on one side of the table as Candi and Jerome sat across from them.

"Why didn't you tell me you knew SB?"

"You never asked. When you said I was gon meet ya friends I ain't know it would be them. Wuddup SB? It's been some time, what's going on with you?"

"Life, man."

"Congratulations on getting married, man."

"Thanks."

"Congrats to you too, Nicki." He said as he looked over at her.

"Well fank you, my darling." Nicki said in her British accent. She took off her sunglasses and handed them over to SB.

"Enough about them. You knew SB all this time and never said anything?"

"I thought we just established that." Jerome said as he looked over at Candi. Nicki and SB shared eye contact before looking back over at Candi and Jerome.

"Boy." Just as Candi was about to speak up again a waiter approached their table taking their drink and food orders.

"So." Nicki said. "Jerome, how long have you and Candi been dating?" Nicki said as she crossed her legs and leaned on the table. She stared at him as he immediately shifted to being uncomfortable by the serious and protective look in Nicki's eyes. She raised an eyebrow and cleared her throat encouraging him to speak up.

"Almost a year."

"A YEAR?!" Nicki and SB said in unison. "Uh- Candice." Nicki said as she cut her eyes at Candi.

"What?"

"When?"

"Ugh, fine. You know the night you called and told me you and SB were getting married?"

"Mhmmmm."

"Well." Candi said as she looked over toward Jerome with a smile. He leaned back in his chair and placed his arm around her. "Right before you called, we met." Candi said happily.

"Ever since then we been dating." Jerome said. Nicki stared between the two and SB looked at Nicki before letting out a slight laugh.

"Safaree this isn't funny. Candi kept this from me all this time."

"I didn't keep it from you."

"Then what was it? Because you never told me."

"You never asked."

"Uh... you know what..." Nicki leaned off of the table and uncrossed her legs.

"Who's choice was it to come here?" SB asked looking around.

"Mine." Jerome spoke up.

"I always wanted to bring Nicki here." SB said looking over at Jerome. "You and Candi was never in the picture though. Thanks for messing that up for me." SB said with a serious face.

"Faree, don't be mean."

"Boy, bye." Candi said as she waved him off. Jerome laughed. The waiter approached the table with their drinks and placed them on the table.

"Okay, do you know what you guys want to eat?"

"Uhm." Nicki glanced over the menu again and decided she wasn't really hungry.

"This'll be it." SB spoke up as he read the expression on Nicki's face and knew it too well. He grabbed her menu out of her hands and grabbed his as well handing them to the waiter. Candi and Jerome agreed as they gathered their menus and handed them to the waitress.

"So...." Nicki said before she took a sip of her margarita. "Are you guys having sex?" Nicki said with a straight face. Jerome choked on his water and Candi's eyes bucked. SB's laugh roared out and Nicki kept a straight face as she continued to look between Jerome and Candi.

"Are you serious right now?" Candi asked.

"Absolutely. Jerome?" Nicki said shifting the question over to Jerome knowing it would get him caught up. He wouldn't want to seem like he hasn't been getting any in front of SB so she knew he could get him to tell.

"She's not gonna drop the question until you answer." SB spoke up. "Trust me." He said before he took a sip of his drink. Jerome shifted his eye contact from SB back over to Candi before he looked back over at Nicki.

"You look nervous, what's up?" Nicki said.

"Nah, I'm not nervous."

"Okay, great. So answer my question."

"Do we really have to talk about this right now?" Candi said speaking up.

"Why you so uncomfortable?" SB asked. "You stay in somebody's sex life. Especially me and Nicki's. We can't get in your business?"

"Pauz." Nicki said.

"Whoa. Double pauz. But yeah." SB said.

"Okay, next question." Nicki said. "What are your intentions with my best friend?"

SB chuckled and took a sip of his drink at how serious Nicki was. Candi rolled her eyes and shook her head at how similar this was and she knew it was all payback.

"So..." Candi said looking between Nicki and SB. They've all known each other for some time now but things were getting serious between Nicki and SB. And with Candi... being Candi, she needed to be all up in their personal business. "Are you guys having sex?" Nicki's eyes bucked wide and all SB could do was laugh. He was used to Candi and her inappropriate ways but now. Nicki on the other hand, still got shocked from time to time.

"Candice." Nicki said anytime Candi was being inappropriate or out of line. SB placed an arm around Nicki and she leaned into him. Knowing that her and SB's affection grossed Candi out, she decided to play into it. SB looked down at her and she looked up at him communicating through their eyes. 

"I'm tearing that up. Word." 

Nicki cut her eyes at SB and he smiled. She stared at him trying to keep a straight face but the longer he smiled the quicker a smile was appearing on her face.

"Just nasty." Candi said. "SB. What are your intentions with my best friend?"

"Why are you acting like you don't know SB?"

"Because." Candi said. "I know SB, "the best friend." Not SB "the boyfriend." So I need to make sure he's right for you."

"I'm perfect for her." SB said in a cocky tone. 

"I'm perfect for him." Nicki said.

Candi rolled her eyes. "You two do this overly lovely dovey shit to be gross."

As time went on Jerome loosened up. Candi was still irritated by Nicki and her question. SB sat back and laughed at almost everything, and Nicki was tipsy. Her questions had gotten more personal and aggressive with her tone.

"Sooooooooooo...." Nicki slurred. SB tightened his grasp around her waist as she was now sitting on his lap. They had moved outside getting a better view of the sun that was setting. Candi and Jerome had left, going to meet with Jerome's parents.

"Hmmm?" SB said looking out a the sunset. Nicki's eyes trailed up his neck and she stared at the side of his face.

"I like this place." Nicki said as she leaned into him. He placed a hand on her thigh and spoke up.

"Me too. I need to bring you here one day. Me and you."

Nicki continued to stare at the side of his face with her face changing back and forth from a pout to normal. SB looked at Nicki and chuckled at her facial expressions. Maybe he shouldn't have let Nicki get that third drink.

"You good?"

Nicki shook her head yes before she looked over at the sunset again. She turned back to SB and wrapped both of her arms around his neck and sighed. She leaned forward and kissed his cheek before moving to his lips.

"Can we go?"

"You ready?" She nodded her head and he looked over before looking back at Nicki. "You in a rush?"

Nicki smiled and nodded again before leaning into him. She placed her hands on both sides of his cheeks.

"I've missed him." Nicki said removing her hands from his cheeks and grabbing at Safaree's hands to stand him up. "It's been too long, come on." He stood up and looked down at her placing his hands on her waist. He licked his lips and she grabbed at the bottom of his shirt and looked up at him. "Come make love to your wife, babe." she said as she kept her grasp on his shirt and pulled him behind her.
